I have been singing and humming this song over and over for the past two weeks. I had a hard time remembering the title but I know by heart every lyrics of the song. I find this song very romantic and soothing. I have heard so many versions of this song done by brilliant artists but I love the version done by Olivia Newton John. Newton is an English born Australian singer who is famous for so many other lovesongs like Hopelessly Devoted To You, I Honestly Love You, among others. I couldn’t find a video done by Newton. The embed video is performed by Dixie Chicks.

Way To Go, Kuerdas Band!

When my brothers go out of town for some gigs, there are some instances where they would opt for thrifty car rental.

Why not? It is a lot of inconvenience if they travel with their motorbikes and bringing along with them their respective musical instruments.

Knowing the band themselves specifically my two younger brothers, they love adventure. So it is no problem for them to take any means of transportation as long as they arrive safely and punctually at the venue of their gigs.

I notice that they are having so much fun and adventure going to different places. They get to exercise their passion for their music and earn a living at the same time. Time continuously evolved and Kuerdas had evolved as well over the years.

Kuerdas music had been attached to the ragga genre. In Gensan, when you say reggae, it has got to be Kuerdas Band. They have got that name. They initially made it a trend. And with the sprouting of reggae bands, Kuerdas musicality had even been profound.

I can not help but be proud of my two younger brothers who had been considered the pillars of Kuerdas Band. They love what they do and their musicality is everything to them.

Who would have thought that the fragile, little man that is the Kuerdas vocals will have the capacity to draw an large audience to dance to their feet? Who would have thought that the once younger brother that I call “Negro” is capable of booking gigs for the band thereby making it their bread and butter?

Way to go, Kuerdas Band!

Textbook Addict Once

Yes Siree! There is no other person that I know of that got hooked to reading books but myself. I used to even rent textbooks just to satisfy my craving for reading. My myopic eyes are valid proof to that.

Not that I am proud of it. It is OK to read as long as you take real good care of your eyes. Regret comes too late folks! It is a hard lesson that I have learned in life.

We’re Not Rich

Our family does not own a 4-wheel drive vehicle. We are lucky though that in our place, transportation is not a problem. It is very easy to get BendPak lift if ever we need one.

There are also a lot of peddlers in our subdivision. You pay only a few bucks are you’ll reach your destination in no time. Doesn’t it sound so good?

Unlike in most progressive countries, owning a car in the Philippines is not a necessity. Only the well- off families can even afford to buy one. Our family is not rich but whenever we have extra money as savings, we will definitely get one.

The Singing Brothers

As I’ve promised, I will write more about Kuerdas as a group. But first, I will have to introduce to you two of the band members who are my younger brothers. Not too many of the people who had seen them perform were aware that the two lead vocals and the rhythm guitarist have the same kind of blood running into their veins. And why not? They are far too different from each other as coffee is to milk. You want proof?

Ok, I will have to show you but first you have to remember their names. The big brother is Jay Son . Friends call him Jick-Jick, Onyok but I’ve always called him Negro ever since we were in diapers, haha! But guys, it’s not his fault God gave him that skin color, hehe. The youngest brother of all is Mark John. You can call him Yayan, Mark, but he’s famously called by friends as Utog. Don’t ask me why and don’t laugh coz it’s aan alias tagged to him by friends to mock him about something, hahaha! I will soon write a separate post for each of them so that you will know them better individually. Just take note of their names for now and make sure you can identify them when you see their faces, wink!

Way To Go, Girlfriend!

A have a girl pal who used to ask “where is the best yoga mats here?” whenever she enters the yoga training premises. She is a real huge yoga enthusiast. She can not let a day pass without her sessions. It has always been a part of her daily routine.
