Since I have lived on my own, I have learned to especially buy items that I need in my apartment. One of them is the compost tumbler. I actually own two- one upstairs and one in the kitchen. It is a lot easier to manage my rubbish with these tumblers. It helps me to get organized.
However, I find it a hassle coming up and down just to get something in the kitchen, i.e. water and something to eat. I would usually much something while infront of the PC 
Anyhow, I have now learned to adjust and I am loving my newly -sought independence.
