Wild World

One of the many revivals that Kuerdas Band play on stage and more often requested by the audience is the reggae version of Wild World by Maxi Priest.

The band actually have a live performance video of this particular song but I couldn’t find it for the moment. I shall feature it in the next MM editions.

Here’s the song, do have a listen:

WILD WORLD

Don’t go, don’t go away
Please stay…

Now that I’ve lost everything to you
You say you want to strat something new
And it’s breaking my heart you’re leaving
Baby I’m grieving

But if you want to leave take good care
Hope you find a lot of nice things to wear
But then a lot of nice things turn bad out there

Oh baby baby it’s a wild world
It’s hard to get by just upon a smile girl
Oh baby baby it’s a wild world
I’ll always remember you like a child girl

You know I’ve seen a lot of what the world can do
And it’s breaking my heart in two
Because I never want to see you sad girl
Don’t be a bad girl

But if you want to leave take good care
Hope you find a lot of nice friends out there
Just remember there’s a lot of bad air, beware

Oh baby baby it’s a wild world
It’s hard to get by just upon a smile girl
Oh baby baby it’s a wild world
I’ll always remember you like a child girl

You know I’ve seen a lot of what the world can do
And it’s breaking my heart in two
Because I never want to see you sad girl
Don’t be a bad girl

But if you want to leave take good care
Hope you find a lot of nice things to wear
But then a lot of nice things turn bad out there

Oh baby baby it’s a wild world
It’s hard to get by just upon a smile girl
Oh baby baby it’s a wild world
I’ll always remember you like a child girl

Oh baby baby it’s a wild world
It’s hard to get by just upon a smile girl
Oh baby baby it’s a wild world
I’ll always remember you like a child girl

Middle Child Syndrome

I can still vividly recall when both my brothers go to school, they would often have a quarrel because of the school backpack, LOL! The elder brother would like to borrow the bag of the younger one and the latter would often refuse causing their quarrels each time.

Being the middle child, I can see some manifestations of the syndrome being discussed in middle child personalities. Good thing the younger sibling often times concede with his elder brother.

Now that both are grown ups, they don’t quarrel over little stuffs now but only of their performances on stage :-)

The Prize I Paid

I do not go for expensive jewelries. I am used to wearing simple accessories. But the tanzanite rings I saw online made me so curious. The designs were so unique that it made me want to own one, LOL!

Well, I need to save up enough penny for whatever I want to purchase. All my life, I learned how to work at whatever I want and accomplish them somehow. I have worked my ass off since I was twenty and all my hard work is not only for me but also for my entire family. I believe that is the prize I paid for being the eldest.

Jay Son’s 30th Birthday

The Kuerdas Band Major, Jay Son, is celebrating his 30th birthday today. I can only wish nothing but the best for him. We don’t plan of anything grand today. I told them we might just go out for dinner to celebrate the occasion.

I didn’t know they celebrated it at the stroke of midnight yesterday. With his Kuerdas family, they went out to LC5 at 10pm of January 14. They gathered together before the clock hit 12mn.

I’ve missed the event as they failed to inform me and my mother about it. I’ve attended the Alumni Homecoming at the time which incidentally was just a few blocks away from where they were.

Anyways, we just look forward of spending his birthday at dinner tonight.

To my brother, may you have the best birthday ever!

Wishlist for 2011

I never am very particular with cellphone models. But recently, while browsing online, my attention was glued on blackberry torch.

Knowing me, I don’t go for high end cellphones but just looking at the item made me want to save enough dime to get one.

It is one item that I definitely will include in my wishlist for 2011.

Before It Is Too Late

The Kuerdas Band Major was not able to finish his degree in Mass Communications. I wonder what has demotivated him to finish the three subjects left for him to be able to have his diploma.

My mother and I never stopped in persuading him in going back to school. I even suggested for him to try online degree programs.

Education is the only legacy that my parents can give us. We don’t have any material possessions. I do hope my brother realizes that before it is too late.

A Workman Needs The Right Tools

Medical diagnostics is so hugely interesting to me. I have always been awed by the Medical Profession, more so because I have been in and out of Doctors’ clinics and hospitals frequently.

However, having heard what a Medical student relate about Medical Diagnostics and about the tools and equipment that is constantly improving, it made me sit up and listen attentively.

This student explained to me that in his practical lessons he uses products from welch allyn.

Being totally ignorant about these apparatus, I could only notice from his smile that he felt pleased with what he is given to use at his Medical course.

Hear Yeah!

Kuerdas is again on the go as its first gig for 2011 is on the road.

Watch out for Kuerdas as the band will sing their hearts out the reggae way at Koronadal City for the Kasadyahan sa Highland at the City Hall Grounds.

The event is part of Koronadal’s Celebration of Hinugyaw Festival.

Kasadyahan sa Highland is a local term for mountain and river trekking which is slated on January 5-6,2011.

Kuerdas Band is playing to close the event with socials and partying the night to the beat of reggae music.

To all mountaineers and reggae enthusiasts, be there and don’t miss the fun!

If Only I Can

Have you ever heard of Mesothelioma? It is not the first time I have heard of such a dreaded disease.

Throughout the period that I have been blogging, it made me aware that there were a lot of people who suffered from it due to asbestos exposure.

I wonder how the family’s victims are going through it. It must not have been easy. To have someone in the family suffering from any kind of ailments is something that I don’t want to experience again. We already had suffered enough when my father died.

Now remembering him makes me all misty-eyed. Oh how I miss him so! How I wish I could turn back the hands of time.

If only I can.

There Are Better Ways To Save My Hard Earned Money

My blogpal, Windy keeps reminding me that I must keep a disciplined physical exercise daily routine. I was tempted to rejoin at the Gym but Windy asked me why I wanted to waste my hard earned money at a Gym when all that it takes is an effective fat burning exercise.

He gave me a few examples of what he meant by that. After reflecting on his suggestions, it did make a whole lot of sense. And right again, why should I spend my hard earned money for Gym fees?

I have to get rid of the fat that has accumulated by being careless.
