This week’s featured song is in honor of the Philippine Master Rapper, Francis Magalona, who passed away last Friday, March 6, at a very young age of 44. Doctors declared that the young modern artist succumbed to multiple organ failure “secondary to severe sepsis and secondary to pneumonia.” He was diagnosed to have the disease seven months ago and have been battling it by undergoing treatments. He wasn’t able to hurdle the complications brought by the treatment .
In his personal blog, a Free Mind, he wrote the treatment cycles he was undergoing. He said and I quote:
“I look forward to the pain as I know my journey is on full speed ahead. I will not be bold to say that without asking a favor from you all. PLEASE PRAY for me as I undergo treatment. Your prayers, as always, have sustained me. And am sure the Lord will listen to all our prayers. To His will I submit myself.” (January 14, 2009)
Certainly, Magalona is a big loss to the Philippine music industry. But his legacy will live on. One of this is a very meaningful song entitled “Kaleidoscope World.”
